To the Animal Resource Center and U of U Departments
We, the undersigned, object to the vivisection of dogs at the University of Utah. We believe that it is not necessary to mutilate or kill dogs to provide effective research and educational opportunities. Many of these dogs are acquired from local pounds. Undoubtedly, a number of these dogs are lost or abandoned pets that once lived in loving homes. Today more than half of U.S. medical schools, including Harvard, Yale and Stanford, no longer vivisect animals.
We urge the University of Utah to end all dog vivisection.
